WCTA 2022

17th Workshop on Compression, Text, and Algorithms

November 11th, 2022, Concepción-Chile

Welcome to WCTA 2022

The 17th Workshop on Compression, Text, and Algorithms (WCTA 2022) will be held in Concepción, Chile, on November 11, the day after SPIRE 2022, chaired by Adrián Gómez Brandón and Massimiliano Rossi. WCTA is a forum primarily for early-stage researchers to present their work; there are no published proceedings so the results presented can also be submitted to most other workshops and conferences. Due to the current circumstances, WCTA will be held both in-person and online.

Giovanna Rosone

Giovanna Rosone is Associate Professor at Dipartimento di Informatica of Università di Pisa. Her main interests include Combinatorics on Words and its application to Bioinformatics. Much of her research has focused on Burrows-Wheeler Transform with applications to a wide variety of other scientific fields, ranging from theoretical computer science to molecular biology. She worked on finite and infinite words (particularly episturmian words and the balanced words), palindromes and Lyndon words. She also worked on new strategies for computing the sorting of the suffixes and/or the conjugates of the sequences of a multiset, (generalized) suffix array, (extended) Burrows-Wheeler Transform and the longest common prefix array, also in external memory.
